For stations that require suction at the intake (instead of self-priming pumps), a vacuum primer pump is used to lift water to the pumps. These stations include wet switches to confirm water has reached the pump volute before the main pumps start.

Primer Pump settings control the primer pump automation and ensure it works with the station. They can be accessed from the main screen (image 1.1) and from the menu screen as well (image 1.2), if the station uses one primer pump for multiple main pumps. If each main pump has its own intake (no shared intake line), a primer pump should be provided for each main pump; in that case, all primer pump controls are available only on the main screen (image 1.3).

The Primer Pump Settings (image 1.4) screen provides all controls to adjust the primer pump automation. If the station has multiple primer pumps, each will have its own screen, showing settings specific to that pump.
At the top, it displays data for the primer pump:
Resetting hours clears the run time and cycle count to zero and updates the "Since" date to the reset date.
Below that is the Primer Fault Delay, which is the maximum time allowed for the primer pump to complete priming. If the pump exceeds this time, the station faults the primer pump, indicating an issue that must be fixed to ensure water reaches the pumps.
Next is the Virtual TOA (Test, Off, Auto):
In the bottom right, the status indicates whether the primer pump is running, idle, faulted, etc.
When multiple primer pumps are configured on a station, this screen (image 1.5) provides a snapshot of all their statuses. It appears after entering and then exiting the individual primer pump screens. The display shows each primer pump, their current status, and the fault delay setting for the station.
Prime Assure is a system that Automates the detection of losing prime on the pumps. It can be paired on systems with a primer pump, or self priming pumps, to ensure that the priming of the pump station is consistent.
