Permissive is a feature added to Omnia to help monitor what state the station is in and what is currently happening to the starting sequence to the pumps (image 3.4).
The Permissive Screen (Image 3.5), consistent across all pumps, displays the reasons behind a pump’s current operational state. For the Jockey pump, it monitors factors such as Power On Delay, HOA (Hand-Off-Auto) position in Auto, Remote Start, Sleep Settings, Fault Status, Flow Cutout Settings, and the Scheduler. A green status indicates that the specific condition is met, allowing the pump to start. A red status indicates that the condition is not met, preventing the pump from starting. In the example provided, the Jockey pump’s start sequence is halted because the operator is not in Auto mode, the pump is in Sleep mode, and there is an unresolved Fault.
The Enable/Disable function for the Jockey pump controls its start sequence. When Enabled, the pump follows the permissive indicators, and if all status lights on the Permissive Screen (Image 3.5) are green, the pump will start. When Disabled, the pump is completely prevented from starting in Auto mode, safeguarding the Jockey pump circuit during maintenance or when an issue is present.
