Pre-WYE Pressure Settings (Intake Configuration)
WYE strainers affect station performance similarly to inline filters. Omnia supports two WYE strainer locations: intake side and discharge side. WYE strainers enable monitoring and automation to maintain normal operation while capturing debris.
Pre‑WYE Monitoring
- Purpose: monitor the pressure differential across the WYE strainer (pressure before vs. after) to determine strainer condition and when cleaning is required (Image 1.1).
- The Pre‑WYE settings screen mirrors the intake-side WYE configuration.
Configuration Note
- WYE strainer location is specified in the Administrator settings. If the configured location is incorrect, contact PPS Service for assistance with proper configuration.

1.1 Pre-WYE settings
Current Intake PSI
This value displays the live pressure reported by the intake transmitter (image 1.2). It represents the pressure on the discharge side of the WYE strainer (i.e., the intake side of the pump station).

1.2 Curent intake pressure
Differential PSI
The Current Pressure Differential displays the real‑time pressure loss across the WYE strainer. It is calculated by subtracting the intake PSI (downstream of the strainer) from the Pre‑WYE PSI (upstream of the strainer).
Example: Pre‑WYE = 25 psi, Intake = 15 psi → Differential = 10 psi across the WYE strainer.

1.3 Differential PSI
Pre-WYE PSI
The Pre‑WYE PSI reading is the live pressure measured on the intake pipe upstream of the WYE strainer (image 1.4). The control system compares this upstream value to the downstream intake transmitter to determine pressure loss across the strainer.

1.4 Pre-WYE PSI
Pre-WYE PSI min (4mA) scale value and max (20mA) scale value
The PSI Min and Max scale values define the pressure span for the Pre‑WYE transmitter (image 1.5). Enter the pressure corresponding to the transmitter’s 4 mA output as the Min (4 mA) value, and the pressure corresponding to the 20 mA output as the Max (20 mA) value. These adjustable ranges permit replacement with a transmitter of a different span without requiring PLC reprogramming.

Pre-WYE Pressure Settings (Discharge Configuration)
The Pre‑WYE configuration for a discharge‑side strainer mirrors the intake‑side setup (image 1.6). The only difference is the physical location: the WYE strainer is on the discharge side of the station.
- Differential calculation: Pre‑WYE (upstream of the strainer) minus the discharge pressure transmitter (downstream) yields the pressure loss across the strainer.
- Pre‑WYE transmitter location: upstream of the WYE strainer, on the discharge side of the pumps.
