The Trend Screen serves as the central data management hub for the pump station, providing comprehensive access to both real-time and historical operational data. This section enables operators to monitor current system performance, analyze past trends, and troubleshoot intermittent faults by identifying recurring patterns or root causes. Additionally, the screen allows data collection intervals and includes a USB utility for exporting data to external devices for detailed analysis.
Trend Screen Functionality
Purpose: The Trend Screen aggregates and displays data points collected by the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), including motor data, system pressure, tank level, and other key parameters.
Historical Review: Operators can navigate historical data to investigate intermittent faults or performance issues. By reviewing past data points associated with fault occurrences, the root cause can be identified through common denominators (e.g., specific pressure drops or level changes).
Interval Scan Time Adjustment:
Description: Allows operators to modify the frequency of data collection.
Function: Provides flexibility to increase precision with shorter intervals for detailed analysis or use broader intervals to capture long-term trends, optimizing data storage and processing.
Purpose: The USB Utility feature enables data export from the pump station’s memory card to an external USB storage device for offline analysis.
Access: Initiated via the USB Utility button on the Trend Screen.
Operation:
Insert a USB stick into the port located on the front panel of the control unit.
Press “copy” on any of the Data information desired for analysis and the data is then automatically transferred from the internal memory card to the USB stick.
Press the “Stop USB for Removal” button to safely complete the transfer process.
Remove the USB stick and connect it to an office computer or laptop for data evaluation.
Benefits: Facilitates detailed review of trend logs and operation logs when on-screen navigation is challenging or time-consuming.
Data Clearing: After extracting necessary data, operators may select “Clear Trend and Operation Logs from SD Card” to erase stored data from the memory card, if desired.
The Trend logs contain the data points recorded by the PLC, including but not limited to motor data (e.g., speed, amps), system pressure, and tank level
Operation logs document operator-initiated actions, such as switching a motor to Hand or Auto mode, or manually energizing a valve.
Alarm Log is a comprehensive list of all the Alarms and faults the station has had.
