When a pump station is housed within an enclosure, such as a pump house or metal box, monitoring the internal temperature is essential to ensure proper operation and prevent electrical failure. The Enclosure Temp settings enable the PLC to monitor and manage the temperature inside the enclosure, alerting operators to potential issues and helping to maintain optimal conditions for system components.
The enclosure temperature settings can be accessed by pressing the button on the main screen (Image 1.1) or through the menu screen (Image 1.2). The current temperature reading from the enclosure sensor will be displayed on the main screen (Image 1.1) or within the Enclosure Temp Settings screen (Image 1.3), allowing operators to monitor and manage enclosure conditions effectively.

Configure the desired thresholds for the low temperature alarm and the high temperature alarm within the enclosure temperature settings (image 1.4). If the enclosure temperature exceeds either setpoint, the system will trigger an alarm and send a notification. This alerts operators that the temperature control units may be malfunctioning or insufficient, prompting timely intervention to prevent potential equipment damage or system failure.
The Panel Temp Min and Max Scale Values define the measurement span of the temperature transmitter used for the enclosure (image 1.5). The transmitter’s minimum measured temperature corresponds to the 4 mA output, and its maximum measured temperature corresponds to the 20 mA output. Setting these values accurately ensures proper scaling and precise temperature readings. The adjustable range allows for compatible replacement transmitters with different scale spans without requiring extensive reconfiguration.
